Welcome

After a disappearing for a while, my personal pages are back. For those of you familiar with the old pages, most of them are not revived yet. (And it isn't likely that they will be revived soon.) It's just that I felt the need to put my papers back online.

Myself

I'm currently working at the Cork Constraint Computation Centre, part of University College Cork, as a post-doctoral researcher and Fellow of the Irish Research Council for Science, Engineering and Technology.

After a number of projects with industry, most notably Bausch & Lomb, Intel and Alcatel-Lucent, I am now working on the development of methods for multiagent planning.

Research Interests

My research interests include distributed (agent-based) problem solving, in particular for dynamic problems. More specifically, I am interested in fault-tolerance and robustness on the one hand, and recovery from failures on the other. Furthermore, the application of constraint-based reasoning techniques on planning (and vice versa) and the application of Artificial Intelligence in general on (computer) games have my interest.

You can find a list of papers that I've written or co-authored here.

Other Interests

I have been an avid boardgamer for over half my life now. I keep track of my collection of games on the BoardGameGeek website.

Also, I've recently come across the Geograph British Isles Project, which aims to collect photographs for every square kilometre of Great Britain and Ireland. I've been using it as an excuse to explore my local area, and you can find the results of that on my profile page.
